The intra-city transportation sector in India has seen a lot of activity in the past couple of years on the back of a robust policy framework and over Rs 1,200 billion worth of investments in existing and planned projects in the next five years. Given that urban transportation investments have the potential to trigger direct and indirect economic benefits of 1 per cent to 6 per cent of the GDP, these initiatives open up new opportunities for industry and other stakeholders.
