The Govt. of Andhra Pradesh through the Dept of Economic Affairs, Govt. of India has requested the assistance of the World Bank for the improvement and strengthening of State Highways and Major District Roads in the state of AP. The Chief Engineer R&B and Managing Director APRDC (Client) intends to maintain about 6470 km of roads under core network on Long Term Performance Based Maintenance Contracts.
The Roads and Buildings Department (RBD) is having the following road net work:
- National Highways (4104 km)
- State Highways (8201 km)
- Major district roads (34605 km)
- Rural roads (under R&B) (18988 km)
