Detail Study, Submission of Project Report including preparation of Master Plan for drainage system inside Harbour Area and Port Township Area of Jagatsinghpur.
Paradip Port, a primary seaport constructed in 1966 is located in Jagatsinghpur district of Orissa (a state of India). The major activities inside port mainly consist of coal and iron ore.
There is no comprehensive Master Plan for storm water drainage inside port and township area. At present, through a number of creeks the storm water is bailed out to river Mahanadi which is connected with Bay of Bengal in nearby area. In times of coincidental high tide in the sea there is backflow and inundation in some pockets of township, on the contrary in the adjacent port area, due to stacking and unloading of various kinds of ore and other materials from ship, the existing drains get blocked resulting in problem of easy bailout of rain water. Egis India has been entrusted to prepare a comprehensive master plan for Township and Port area to resolve such issues. At present survey work is in progress.
