Supervision of widening the existing 2 - lane to 4/6 lanes
As part of the National Highway Development Programme (NHDP), the National Highway Authority of India provides financing for the supervision of widening works on highways located in the North/South Corridor in the State of Punjab. The scope of work involves strengthening of the existing 2-lane carriageway and widening to 4/6 lanes.
More specifically, the purpose is to supervise the development and upgrading of several sections of NH-1A in the State of Punjab to the standards of a 4-lane highway:
· Lakhanpur (Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir border)
· Pathankot section from km 110.00 to Km 117.00 and Km 3.2 to Km 17.00 [ICB Civil Contract package NS-36(PB)],
· Mukerian - Pathankot section from Km 70.00 to Km 110.00 [ICB Civil Contract package NS-37 PB)],
· Bhogpur-Mukerian section from Km 26.00 to Km 70.00 [ICB Civil Contract package NS-38 PB) in the state of Punjab].

Project Management Services
In Joint Venture with the local consultant "Nag Infrastructure Consulting Engineer Pvt. Ltd." (NICE), BCEOM was awarded the contract for:
· reviewing contract documents and preparing the formal contract agreement,
· construction supervision for proper implementation of the project within the time schedule,
· review of bituminous mix designs,
· at the commencement of works, approval of the contractor's work programme, resource level and safety precautions, handing over of the site, setting-up of supervisory and quality control systems,
· quality control and certification of interim payments,
· preparation of monthly progress reports,
· preparation of variation orders, as required,
· preparation of as-built drawings,
· preparation of contract completion reports,
· certifying payments in respect of quality and quantity,
· ensuring project planning, monitoring, reporting and financial management,
· reviewing and implementing the safety plan,
· identifying training needs and preparing a training programme,
on-the-job training and training assessment.
