Widening and strengthening of state roads and bridges in Uttar Pradesh (UPSRP)

Upgrading & Rehabilitation of road works

 

The Government of India has received a loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development which will be made available to the Government of the State of Uttar Pradesh (GOUP) towards the cost of the Uttar Pradesh State Roads Project. Part of this financial assistance will be applied toward civil works for the widening and strengthening of approximately 173km of State Highways and Major District Roads and two major bridges to be undertaken in 2 separate construction packages as tabulated below, all of which are located in broadly flat terrain.

 

The project is divided into 2 packages:

 

  • UPSRP/UPG/8: upgrading of road works of the Azamgarh-Mau-Rasra-Phephna road SH-34 from CH. 270.300 (Azamgarh) to CH. 375.600 (Phephna excluding Ch. 316.070 to CH. 320.200, being National Highway}; 9.528km. Azamgarh Shahar Bypass, 4.800km. Azamgarh Bundha Road, SH-32

Package length 115.498km, 2-lane,

Type of pavement: flexible

 

  • UPSRP/RMC/24: Rehabilitation of road works of Raniganj-Raibareilly Road SH-01 from CH. 54.000 (Raniganj) to CH. 111.000 (Raibareilly), SH-1

Package length 57km, 2-lane

Project Management Services

 

 

Egis Bceom International was awarded the contract for:

 

  • reviewing contract documents and preparing the formal contract agreement,
  • construction supervision for the proper implementation of the project within the time schedule,
  • review of bituminous mix designs,
  • at commencement of works, approval of the contractor's work programme, resource level and safety
  • precautions, handing over of the site, setting-up of supervisory and quality control systems,
  • quality control and certification of interim payments,
  • preparation of monthly progress reports,
  • preparation of variation orders, if required,
  • preparation of as-built drawings,
  • preparation of contract completion reports,
  • certifying payments in respect of quality and quantity,
  • ensuring project planning, monitoring, reporting and financial management.
  • review safety plan & implementation,
  • identifying training needs and preparation of the training programme,
  • on-the-job training and training assessment.
