Road Improvement in Kumaon Zone Package II - USRIP (ADB-funded)

Construction Supervision for USRIP

 

The State Government of Uttarakhand under ADB funding of the Uttarakhand State Roads Improvement Program (USRIP), is responsible for improving 10,800 km of the existing road network in 7 phases.

This supervision consultancy project is the first phase of development under the USRIP covering 361.70 km under 5 contract packages and will broadly include project management as “Engineer” in terms of civil works contract, supervision and monitoring, quality assurance, contract management and making engineering decision, verification of quantity, recording of measurements and certifications of measurement.

This project divided in 5 contract packages:

  • Contract Package-5: Rudrapur, Road section: Dhakia Gulabo-Paiga-Mukundpur; Jaitpur-Dhanori and Zafarpur-Gularbhoj in Uddham Singh Nagar district, Total package length 49.6 kms, Pavement type : Flexible.
  • Contract Package -6: Ranikhet, Road section: Ranikhet-Mohan in Almora district; Betalghat-Bhatrojkhan and Nathuakhan-Suyalbadi in Nainital district, Total package length 115.9 kms, Pavement type : Flexible.
  • Contract Package -7: Almora, Road section: Almora-Bageshwar (Almora district) ; Almora-Bageshwar in Bageshwar district, Total package length 72.9 kms, Pavement type : Flexible.
  • Contract Package -8: Berinag, Road section : Barechhina-Sheraghat in Almora district; Udiyari Bend- Kanda in Bageshwar district, Udiyari Bend-Kanda and Udyari Bend-Thal in Pithoragarh district ; Total package length 33.3 kms, Pavement type : Flexible.
  • Contract Package -9: Tanakpur, Road section : Pulla-Chamdeol-Shiling Motor Road; Lohaghat- Chaumel Motor Road; Thuligarh-Bhairav Mandir and Kakrali-Thuligarh in Champawat district ; Total package length 33.3 kms, pavement type : Flexible. Total length : 361.70 km, 2 lane, Type of pavement : flexibleType of Terrain: Hilly / Mountainous

Project Management Services

 

Egis India as a sub-consultant to Egis BCEOM International were awarded the contract for:

  • reviewing contract documents and preparing the formal contract agreement,
  • construction supervision for proper implementation of the project within the time schedule,
  • review of bituminous mix designs
  • approval of the contractor's work programme, resource level and safety precautions, handing over of the site, setting-up of supervisory and quality control systems,
  • quality control and certification of interim payments,
  • preparation of monthly progress reports,
  • preparation of variation orders, if required,
  • preparation of as-built drawings,
  • preparation of contract completion reports.
  • certifying payments in respect of quality and quantity,
  • ensuring project planning, monitoring, reporting and financial management.
  • review safety plan & implementation
  • identifying training needs and preparation of training program
  • on-the-job training and training assessment
