Project overview

Government of Karnataka is implementing a project called North Karnataka Urban Sector Investment Project (NKUSIP) with funding from ADB. The project is to usher in reforms in the water & sanitation sector and to bring in service improvements. Under this project continuous pressurized water supply in 13 ULB’s of North Karnataka viz., Bellary, Hosapete, Sindhanur, Raichur, Bidar, Basavakalyan, Shahabad, Yadgir, Haveri, Gadag-Betageri, Gokak, Nippani and Ilkal. Service Improvement encompasses: Continuous Pressurized Supply, Improved Customer Care Service Centre, Improvement in Customer Billing and Collection among other things.

With three stage of the project

1. Phase-I (Contraction Period) – Construction and rehabilitation work of water supply system

2. Phase-II (Transition Period) – Stage wise conversion of intermittent water supply to Continuous pressurized water

3. Phase-III (O&M Period) – Operation and Maintenance of water supply system with Performance Targets

Our missions

  1. Convert intermittent water supply to continuous pressurized water supply with performance standards
  2. Establish well-functioning of customer billing, collection, improvement in water supply and water pressure, customer care center etc
  3. Value add to the Operator’s Service Improvement Plans, O&M Plan, Advance Procurement Plan
  4. Review requests/ requirements for additional networks during O&M phase and within the boundary
  5. Review the O&M plan furnished by the contractor and suitably modify if required
  6. Review matters related to safety and environment management measures adopted by contractors for the project
