Hyderabad Growth Corridor Limited (HGCL), a Joint Venture Company between Hyderabad Urban Development Authority (HUDA) and Infrastructure Corporation of Andhra Pradesh, is mandated to take up construction of the Outer Ring Road to Hyderabad city. The Outer Ring Road with an approximate length of 158 km connects Patancheru - Shamshabad – Pedda Amberpet – Ghatkesar – Shamirpet - Medchal –Patancheru, providing connectivity to the existing and proposed major growth centers and linking all the State and National Highways passing through Hyderabad. The ORR works are proposed to be taken up in two phases. The works under Phase I & Phase II A comprising of 86.68 Km from Gachibowli to Shamshabad, Shamshabad to Patancheru and Pedda Amberpet to Shamshabad were already awarded and the same are under progress. Out of the remaining length of ORR i.e., Northern Arc Phase-I comprising of 38 Km from Patancheru to Shamirpet, is being taken up with loan assistance from Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) under Loan Agreement No.ID-P:193. HGCL engaged the services of Egis as Consultants for Construction Supervision of the civil works of Northern Arc Phase-I of Outer Ring Road Project, to be executed by Contractors selected on the basis of International Competitive Bidding (ICB).
