Engineering & Project Management Consultancy for Odisha Integrated Sanitation Improvement Project in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar City, Odisha Integrated Sanitation Improvement Project

The Odisha Government took up this project to improve the sanitation condition of the cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. The Project is being implemented by the Odisha Water Supply & Sewerage Board under the Housing & Urban Development Department of the Government of Odisha.

Project overview

The Project is the biggest in Odisha in Sanitation Sector for Bhubaneswar & Cuttack City, having a total Project Cost of INR 3,000 Crores.

Role of Egis: Design & Project Management Consultancy for the following Work Packages:

Package No 1: Laying of 100 km of Sewers, including  Manholes, Sewer Appurtenances, House Sewer Service connection

Package No 2: Laying of 280 km of Sewers including Trenchless Technology in some areas, Construction of 8,934 Manholes, Sewer Appurtenances, House Sewer Service Connection of more than 53,600 House Holds.

Package No 3: Construction of 2 Nos Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) (36 MLD & 16 MLD) and 29 Nos Pumping Stations (PS) at Cuttack. Construction of 1 no 48 MLD Capacity STP and 9 Nos PS at Bhubaneswar.

Package No 4: Rehabilitation & Reconstruction of 17 km of main leading drains, 6 km of sub-drains, 5 nos new high-capacity diesel-operated PS at zonal outfalls, 7 nos of sluice gates

To render world-class Engineering & Management Consultancy that includes: (i) Detailed Engineering Design, (ii) Contract Supervision, (iii) Monitoring and Quality Control of Construction Works, (iv)  Environmental Monitoring/ Management and health & safety aspect of construction workers, (v) Institutional Improvement Framework, including (a) Decentralization from state government to Municipal Corporations of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, (b) Creation of asset database and introduction of NRW reduction activities, © Implementation of Public-Private Partnership in O&M, (d) Improvement of customer database, and (e) Organizational Strengthening in planning, financial and human resource management.
